On Point - Veterans Talk Radio with host Rich Liebert, who is joined by Ken Robison, Montana "Heritage Keeper" talking about Black History Month from a Montana and Veterans perspective. The Black Heritage Evening at the Great Falls Public Library has been rescheduled due to COVID, and will now take place on Thursday, May 12th, where Ken will be one of many speakers and performers as we celebrate Black History in Great Falls and Montana.
Ken's books are available at local bookstores and museums, as well as online:
https://www.arcadiapublishing.com/Search?searchtext=ken%20robison&searchmode=anyword&searchoption=allbooks&statefacet=Montana
Description from Ken: "For those that told me "Oh, the Civil War didn't mean anything to Montana," I challenge you to read the stories of these Black Civil War veterans that came to frontier Montana Territory after the Civil War. I'm so pleased to be able to present a few of their stories. I researched all 36 that I found came to Montana, and that was a huge challenge. Some stories soared with success despite the racial deck being stacked against them. And then there were those with stories of sadness and failure. Only one of them, escaped my research talent--his name was just too common to be confident I could learn his story. Here's to the heroes who fought the good fight for their freedom, came to frontier Montana, and left their mark."
