The local Vets4Vets organization held its 18th Vets4Vets Stand Down in the Mercantile Building at the Montana ExpoPark on Sept. 15th and 16th, 2023. This year 62 different providers volunteered free services to the military veterans. During this episode Rich interviews a few of the organizations and volunteers that are integral parts of this annual event.

Host Thomas Risberg is joined by Elfie Neber, Psychology Professor at Great Falls College-MSU, and Ashley Haley, Ambassador at the Great Falls College-MSU Native American Enrichment Center and Licensed Addictions Counselor Student, for a powerful conversation about the impact of substance abuse on communities throughout Montana, and the pros and cons of harm reduction strategies, including Narcan, Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and needle exchanges.
To find out more about harm reduction, mark your calendars for the Let’s Talk Harm Reduction event in Heritage Hall at Great Falls College-MSU on Tuesday, October 3rd from 5:30-8pm. The event will feature a meet and greet from 5:30-6pm followed by a panel of experts including clinicians, advocates and law enforcement personnel.
